This is a weekly group that offers a reflective place for parents of adopted children aged 13 and over, the opportunity to connect with other families in a similar situation. It is led by a therapist from The Annex and allows areas of PACE and understanding complex trauma to be revisited.

Parenting teenagers is a delicate business at the best of times, but when you add in a complex and often abusive early experiences, it can feel simply overwhelming. This group has proved a life line to many parents and helps then to make sense of tricky times

Areas of discussion may include

  • Revisiting PACE
  • Looking behind behaviours
  • Understanding and parenting a teenager with a trauma brain
  • Why you matter
  • Why attachment behaviour can look like things have gone wrong
